Since 2006, FlakPhoto Director Andy Adams has worked with cultural institutions to connect with online audiences. His projects blend aspects of digital communication, online audience engagement, and creative collaboration to explore contemporary ideas in photography. Two such projects are Looking at the Land and Making Pictures of People.

Looking at the Land is an online landscape photography exhibit sponsored by the RISD Museum of Art. Consisting of both a museum-based projection and the web exhibition, it has received positive critical reception in American Photo Magazine, TIME Magazine, and the LA Times.

Making Pictures of People is digital exhibit of portrait photography commissioned by the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Designed and developed primarily to be experienced on-site via large format touchscreen displays, the piece aimed to entice and intrigue visitors, while not distracting from the photos and interviews. A slightly-adapted version of the kiosk lives on the web, viewable on any device.

Built on ExpressionEngine. Produced by FlakPhoto. Design by Swink. Development by Trapp Interactive.

About Trapp Interactive

Marcus Trapp is a freelance web developer based in Madison, Wisconsin with over 20 years of experience. In that time, he's built websites for large companies, small organizations, and creative visionaries alike. His lifelong fascination with the digital form started in the video arcades of the 1980's and progressed with the medium itself through the years. After creating and completing his own individual major of Interactive Design at the University of Wisconsin Madison, he cultivated his web development skills in the highly creative, highly demanding ad agency world.

In July 2012, Marcus and his dog, Gizmo, struck off on their own to establish Trapp Interactive. Whether collaborating with larger agencies or working directly with clients, he strives to build visually-engaging, easy-to-use experiences that are accessible on any device. Trapp Interactive specializes in custom frontend development (HTML, CSS, and JS) with the backend framework of Craft CMS, while also proficient in Wordpress. These versatile platforms allow for completely-tailored, easily-updated, low-maintenance websites.
